Rodney Dale Black, age 70, passed away Tuesday, January 3rd at the LBJ Hospital in Houston, TX. He was born October 22, 1946 in San Leon, OK to parents John W. Black and Nora Lee Loving Black. Rodney is survived by his four children, Meridith Tiede, Kyle Black, Ashley Hollis, Janiece Black and her Mother Jackie Black, his nine (soon to be ten!) grandchildren, his brother Darrell Black and his Great Dane Sissy. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and cherished the time he spent with them. He received a degree in Architectural Engineering with Honors from the University of Texas in May 1971 and spent his life designing and building commercial and residential structures primarily in Dallas and Houston, TX. Rodney was a talented and creative designer and has left behind a legacy of admirable buildings.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 26th, 2017 at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, Oklahoma at 1 PM. Following the Service the family invites you to join them at McGehee’s Catfish Restaurant to celebrate the life of Rodney D. Black.
