Betty Earl Burton (Jones)

Betty Earl Jones (Burton), age 74, formerly of Wichita Falls, TX passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She was a graduate of S.H. Rider High School in 1965 where she was in the first freshman class and voted on the school colors, the name, and mascot. She was also in a capella choir with her favorite teacher Mr. Cowan. Betty was an active member of Fairway Baptist Church where she taught Girls in Action (GA’s) and an active member in the churche's choir. Later on, she was also an active member of Lakeside City Baptist Church where she taught various children’s classes, was an active member of the churche's choir, and served at the faith mission. She was a faithful employee for Wills Oil Company where she kept their books for 17 years. She then became employed at Patterson’s and continued bookkeeping for 12 years where she then retired. Betty married her joy, Andrew on March 16, 1985. Betty devoted her entire life to her husband, child, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and fur children. Betty never missed attending her family’s birthdays, sporting events, church, and special life events. She loved Elvis, attending his concerts, and watching her Korean shows. She was the most compassionate, forgiving, selfless, gracious, joyful, and loving woman. She had an undying faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Betty served him faithfully and was a perfect example of his unconditional love to our whole family.  She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Odell Burton, brother-in-law Jim Short, and son in law Kyle Brown. She is survived by her husband and soulmate Andrew Jones of 36 years, a daughter, Kimberli Brown; 3 Grandchildren, Breana Williams and her husband, Keith, Emily Everson and her husband, Matthew, and Noah Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Elijah Brown, Titan Everson, and Emerald Everson; two siblings, brother Raymon Darwin Burton and his wife Lynn;  sister Aundra Short; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Viewing was held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, and Funeral was held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Waldo Funeral home, 619 N. Travis St., Sherman, TX 75090, Minister Brian Taylor officiating. The Family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Wilson N. Jones Hospital and Hospice of Sherman.
