David Burton Lyons, 65, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012. A Memorial service was held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Park. David was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Fort Worth. He graduated from S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls and attended Midwestern University. He served in the National Guard and was an Austin firefighter for several years before going to work in inventory control for the McLane Company in Lubbock. David was an avid car enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda H. Lyons, and his father, John F. Lyons Jr. Survivors include his mother, Mary D. Lyons; sons, Jim Lyons and wife, Tina, and Michael Lyons and wife, Mary; granddaughter, Emily Lyons; sister, Kay Dillard; two nephews; and two nieces.
